How to find the good jobs. From Humans!

David Walker - TakeJobs.

I know it's hard to believe but, you can still get a job from a human. Even with all the youtube and craigslist out there. I know it's 2011. I know there are job search engines. Now wouldn't you like some human interaction for a while. This is what lands 65% of the good jobs. Word of mouth. You meet someone who knows someone who has a job opening. Even in 2011, More people will retire from jobs they found through friend or family then any other source. Come on, everybody knows someone who is hiring for some kind of position. I don't care if they just saw a sign hanging in a window somewhere. These humans, they now where the jobs are. OK, Enough funny business.

I would like to explain to you how to get these jobs. It's easy and all you have to do is get out there and talk. Don't say I don't have time. If your looking for a job then you have plenty of time, right. Also this is how to enjoy your job search by visiting with other people you know, volunteering in your local community, attending parties and local events, you get the picture.  Going out and taking a job takes work but, so does keeping one.

Here are the 4 ways to get a job from a human.

1. Being Out There.

Let yourself be seen. Join a board, volunteer with kids, help your local fire company or attend events where you get to talk out loud.  You might see the value in this. Guess what? People are now seeing the value in you. Holding an intelligent conversation with someone at one of these events is how a job can just fall in your lap.

Example: You volunteer to coach county basketball after school. You have a good time with the kids. The parents enjoy what you do for their kids. One of the parents is the coach at your local high school. His son plays on your team because, he's not old enough for high school ball yet. An assistant coaching position comes up at the high school and he comes to you ask if your interested.

Now, If your a big basketball fan then you just landed a career that you love and you didn't even apply for it.

2. Be Remembered

When the people you know are in business and own companies are around, be remembered. Be a pest but, don't get on their nerves. Let them know that if they have any position opening up that you be more then happy to start at an entry-level. Do this in a place where you can have the floor and be comfortable in your surroundings. This is the memory part.

You can even pretend that your work for this person at party (while their in the same room of course). Just as a joke. Then what. Weeks from then when he or she thinks about hiring. You will be the first to come to mind. They'll be thinking " That crazy Dave told everyone he was my secretary". That puts you first on the list.

3. Do I Know You (first date ice breaker)

OK, This one is take a little bit of determination. So there's a company that you would like to work for. You know who the boss or management are but, not personally.   This is where the "first date line" comes in. Put yourself in a front of this person however you can (no stalking lol). Ask them the ancient question" Do I Know You". They might even say " I do remember you from somewhere", typical. Everybody looks like somebody. Now, smoothly say,"What is it you do", another typical thing to say. They will tell you and then you will continue to engage in the conversation but, don't say much about yourself. Talk about what you have in relation to their job. If they say " My job sucks", move on. Trust me. No one's going to hire anyone with evidence of them saying that.

Here comes the turn. Just like in a first date call back. Tell them "let me give you my number because, I'm very interested in your company". This is the mind scam. Their thinking " Man, They seemed like a nice person. I wonder what kind of worker they are".

They won't call you but, that's not what we're trying to accomplish. One week later walk into their work and get an application. Make sure they see you in there. Now is when it hits them. WOW! They really are interested in this company. You just got bumped to the top of the list.

4. My Friend's Friend

Everyone has that friend with the perfect job. Don't be jealous. Ever heard the saying, " If you cant beat them, You might as well join them". Ask all those friends and family to put in a good word for you.  These are people that you can bug and bug some more without failure. Now, if it is a uptight friend they might not help because you could take their job. This method is probably one of the best ways to get in to a job that you enjoy because you can share something in common with the ones you loves.

These 4 methods have proven to produce the most jobs. Though I put them in my own words. It could work for you. You don't know till you try.
